West. Lebanon, Ind. (CNS) - Ray Kidwell, 61, a life resident of West Lebanon, died Tuesday (Dec 21, 1971) at the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been a patient since Oct. 14 and had been seriously ill since that time. Born in West Lebanon, Dec 29, 1909, he was the son of Elonzo and Helena Haptonstall Kidwell. He married Donnis L. Shields Sept 11, 1934, in Covington, who survives. He attended West Lebanon Schools and was employed as a section hand for the Wabash Railroad for several years. He was a Army veteran of World War II and was a former member of the Williamsport American Legion Post. Survivors also include two daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Christenberry of Attica Route 3 and Mrs. Virginia Chumley of Covington, his mother of West Lebanon; two sisters, Mrs. Eulah Ford of Hammond and Mrs. Rosella Woodrum of Henning, Ill.; six grandchildren and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Friday at the Fisher Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Fogle officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery with military rites. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday.
